Safe Auto Transport

Every year millions of cars are bought and sold, but how do they get from point A to point B when either a company sells them, or a consumer purchases a car that is more than driving distance away? This is where car transport or car shipping comes into play.

The first question that probably comes to mind is, why? While it may seems that you could just drive your car to where it’s needed, here are just a few reasons for personal auto transport:

  • Moving Long Distances – One side of the country to another
  • Moving to college out of state
  • Relocation of a corporate office (and thus a relocations of corporate cars)
  • Sale of a vehicle online

While vehicle transportation does initially give us visions of large trucks on the freeway, carrying luxury a dealership, it also has these various other uses for average consumers.

When it comes to transporting your car there are a number of ways that it can be done. First you can have a truck come by and load up your car, this process is common, but what makes it tedious is that there can be nothing in the car, no cloths or personal belongings, only the car. A second option is cross country drivers, where various companies will match people in need of a car to cross the country and can drive your car for you. This is a good option because it saves gas money, but a bad option because it puts the miles on your car, and often times the drivers are doing it for solely for use of the vehicle, which can mean alternative motives. Ships are also sometimes used to bring cars to countries across the ocean; there are few downfalls to this as long as you don’t worry about them sinking, which is highly unlikely but no unheard of.

Regardless of how you decide to get your car across the country or world, you are generally covered for damage (just be sure to double check with your choice company). The rate of accidents is less than one percent for auto transport trucks, and the damage rate is less than two tenths of a percent for major auto manufactures, who have to send millions of vehicles across the country each year. If you are worried about getting your car to your destination, consider the most protected way, using auto transport.
